your phone from up to 33 feet away. We tested it in-house and it was super simple to set up. Plenty of our customers agree it's an easy, affordable way to play music from your phone on your home system. Q: What is the difference between streaming with Wi-Fi vs. Bluetooth? A: Bluetooth is a universal format for streaming audio from just about any phone, tablet, or computer, so it's super flexible. It lets you stream any audio from your device, plus family and friends can play their music on your system without much hassle. Be warned though, every sound your device makes - ring tones, text alerts, etc - will play through your speakers over Bluetooth, interrupting your music unless you silence your alerts. When you stream your music through Wi-Fi, you're free to use your device to take calls and do whatever you want without disrupting playback. If your receiver has built-in support for streaming services, music comes from the cloud - your phone is simply a controller. There are some sound quality benefits, too. Read on... Q: What about sound quality? A: It's true that sound quality can suffer with streaming. But it doesn't have to. There are plenty of ways to ensure your wireless music sounds great. Many receivers have built-in processing to enhance the sound of streamed audio files, restoring some of the data lost through compression for fuller sound. If you stream over Wi-Fi to a stereo receiver, it's possible to get CD-quality sound. Wi-Fi allows lossless data transfer. If you're streaming from a music service app, check the app's settings. Many music apps, like Spotify and TIDAL, allow you to adjust streaming and download quality. Many also offer EQ settings to tweak the sound to your liking. Q: Can I stream music to more than one room? A: There are several wireless multi-room audio platforms that allow you to stream music throughout your house and control everything from your mobile device. See our Bluesound article on page 31 for one system that specializes in sound quality. Wireless multi-room systems are super flexible. You can set up powered speakers in different zones and even integrate your existing audio gear. Free tech support for life Need help with your gear?
