Go portable to get outside
Instead of upgrading her old receiver, Brooke decided she wanted something more flexible: a portable wireless speaker. "I have friends come over for training sessions, and we move everything outside," she said. "It's easy to grab my Bluetooth speaker and take it out with us." Brooke recommends a larger wire- less speaker, so it can play loudly whether you're outside or inside. "You want to be able to hear it over the noise of a tread- mill." It's also great to use with video workouts. "There are lots of exercise apps you can use for instruction with a tablet or phone," she said. A wireless speaker will let you hear the trainer loud and clear.
Wire-free earbuds
Brooke also uses wireless headphones during some of her personal workouts. "I can pair them wirelessly to my smart bike and treadmill," she said. And for folks who aren't excited about spending a long time on a treadmill, she says they can come in handy for more than just music. "Pair them to your phone to watch Netflix; it's a great distraction during long cardio sessions."
